Tribon M3

Tribon M3 is an integrated CAD/CAM system used in shipbuilding to take vessels from early design through detailed engineering and production. Centered on a consistent 3D product model, it supports hull and steel structure design, outfitting, and the generation of accurate production information for the workshop.

Key capabilities include:

• Hull and structural modeling, fairing, and panel/plate definition
• Routing for piping, cable trays, and HVAC with spec- and catalog-driven components
• Clash detection and rule-based checks to improve buildability
• Automatic deliverables such as drawings, pipe isometrics, bills of materials, and material take-offs
• Generation of NC data, nesting, and other fabrication outputs to drive cutting and forming
• Revision control, work breakdown, and options to interface with yard planning, ERP, and MES systems
• Import/export with common CAD formats (e.g., DXF/IGES) and configurable data exchange

Widely adopted by shipyards and design offices, Tribon M3 helps reduce rework, shorten lead times, and improve manufacturing accuracy by tightly linking design with production. Although later succeeded by newer platforms, it remains in active use in many organizations due to its mature workflows and proven production integration.

Tribon M3 is developed by Tribon Solutions AB and is used by 2 users of Software Informer. The most popular version of this product among our users is 3.0. The names of program executable files are StxSessN.exe, tbcontrol.exe.
